COVID-19 Testing and Case Data Report for Monday, April 6, 2020: As of 10:30 AM this morning, Colusa County is reporting 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with zero (0) confirmed deaths.

The City of Williams website will be updated at 10:30 AM, Monday through Saturday and will be summarized daily on social media.

The City of Williams is conducting an update to the 2014-19 Housing Element. The Housing Element, part of the City’s General Plan, is a policy document that addresses existing and future housing needs for all Williams residents and economic groups. The State of California requires by law that the Housing Element be updated periodically. For this program, the City is updating the document for the 2020-28 period. 

The City conducted a kick off public workshop on July 24, 2019 on the Housing Element Update to receive public comments on this process. The City is now in the process of preparing the updated document.  In the meantime, the City is requesting further public comments on the Housing Element Update and welcomes continuing public comments. The City’s current 2014-19 Housing Element is available for review below.

La Ciudad de Williams está llevando a cabo una actualización del Elemento de Vivienda 2014-19. El Elemento de Vivienda, parte del Plan General de la Ciudad, es un documento de política que aborda las necesidades de vivienda existentes y futuras para todos los residentes y grupos económicos de Williams. El estado de California exige por ley que el elemento de vivienda se actualice periódicamente6. Para este programa, la Ciudad está actualizando el documento para el período 2020-28. 

La Ciudad realizó un taller público de lanzamiento el 24 de julio de 2019 sobre la Actualización del Elemento de Vivienda para recibir comentarios públicos sobre este proceso. La ciudad está ahora en el proceso de preparación del documento actualizado. Mientras tanto, la Ciudad solicita más comentarios públicos sobre la Actualización del Elemento de Vivienda y agradece los continuos comentarios públicos. El elemento de vivienda actual de la ciudad 2014-19 está disponible para su revisión a continuación.

      Williams Police Department Announces Promotion to the Rank of Sergeant 

On Monday, July 29, 2019, Williams Police Chief Jim Saso announced the promotion of Police Officer Adam Reusser to the rank of Sergeant. 

Sergeant Reusser joined the Department in 2017 and is currently assigned to the Field Operations Division as a patrol Sergeant.  Sergeant Reusser has previously served as a Police Officer with the Gridley-Biggs Police Department and with the Marysville Police Department. 

Sergeant Reusser earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Criminal Justice from the Ashford University and possess his Peace Officer and Standards Training (P.O.S.T) Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Certificates.
